Helping people in recovery believe that more is possible.
Practical, empowering workshops that help people rebuild self-belief and put positive change into action
Recovery involves far more than stopping a behaviour or moving away from a difficult situation.
It can mean rebuilding confidence, identity, trust and hope. It can mean learning to make different choices while managing the fear, self-doubt and limiting beliefs created by past experiences.
That is where my work fits.

Recovery involves far more than stopping a behaviour or moving away from a difficult situation.
It can mean rebuilding confidence, identity, trust and hope. It can mean learning to make different choices while managing the fear, self-doubt and limiting beliefs created by past experiences.
That is where my work fits.

I partner with organisations supporting people in recovery and their families, delivering practical and engaging workshops that complement the specialist services already in place.
My role is not to replace therapeutic, clinical or recovery support. It is to add another layer: helping individuals recognise their strengths, challenge the beliefs holding them back and begin to see themselves—and their future—differently.
From understanding change to believing you can create it
People can be given excellent advice, information and support, but still struggle to believe they are capable of acting on it.
They may be carrying beliefs such as:
“I always get things wrong.”
“I’m not good enough.”
“People like me don’t change.”
“I’ve failed too many times.”
“There’s no point trying because it won’t last.”
My workshops create a supportive space in which participants can begin to question those beliefs.
Through accessible mindset tools, honest conversations, memorable activities and achievable next steps, participants are encouraged to recognise that their past does not have to determine what happens next.
The emphasis is not on being perfect. It is on developing the courage to try, learning from what happens and recognising that they can choose again.
What my workshops help participants develop
The workshops are designed to support individuals to:
-Build confidence and self-belief
-Recognise personal strengths and progress
-Identify and challenge limiting beliefs
-Reframe mistakes as opportunities to learn
-Develop a more compassionate inner voice
-Understand the connection between thoughts, feelings and actions
-Take greater ownership of the choices within their control
-Build courage before waiting to feel confident
-Identify small, realistic next steps
-Feel more hopeful about what may be possible for them
Participants leave with practical tools they can continue to use beyond the workshop, supporting the ongoing work they are already doing with your service.
Be You - Believe In Yourself
An accessible introduction to mindset, gratitude and self-belief.
This workshop helps participants recognise how their experiences may have shaped the way they think about themselves. Together, we explore how repeated thoughts can become deeply held beliefs—and how those beliefs can begin to change through awareness, practice and new experiences.
Participants are introduced to simple tools that can help them notice progress, challenge unhelpful thinking and develop a more supportive relationship with themselves.
The central message is simple but powerful:
You are more than what has happened to you, and you are capable of becoming more than you currently believe.
Who Do You Think You Are?
A practical exploration of identity, self-doubt and the different ways imposter feelings can appear.
Participants consider the roles, labels and expectations they may have carried—and whether these still reflect the person they are becoming.
Rather than simply talking about confidence, we explore the behaviours created by self-doubt and identify small changes participants can practise in everyday life.
This workshop supports individuals to separate who they are from what they have experienced, recognise the value they already bring and begin building an identity that supports their recovery and future.
Courage to FAIL
FAIL stands for First Attempt In Learning.
For someone in recovery, a setback can quickly become evidence that they have failed or that change is impossible. This workshop offers a different perspective.
Participants learn to view attempts as information rather than judgement. We explore what happened, what can be learned and what they might choose to do differently next time.
The workshop reinforces that progress is rarely a straight line. One difficult moment does not erase everything that came before it, and needing to try again does not mean starting from nothing.
The aim is to replace “I failed” with: “I tried. I learned. I can choose again.”
The Empowerment Arrow Break
One of the most memorable elements of my work is the Empowerment Arrow Break, usually offered at the end of the first workshop.
Each participant chooses a word representing a fear, limiting belief or something they are ready to begin releasing. They write that word onto an archery arrow.
Following clear instructions and with individual support, they place the tip of the arrow against the soft area of their neck and step forward into a board until the arrow breaks.
It is a powerful physical demonstration of what can happen when somebody takes action despite their mind telling them they cannot do it.
Why this approach works
My workshops are practical, interactive and human.
I do not stand at the front of a room and tell people to “think positively.” I help them understand how beliefs are formed, recognise the impact those beliefs can have and experience what it feels like to respond differently.
The sessions combine:
Practical mindset and NLP-informed tools
Relatable language and real-life examples
Individual reflection
Supportive group discussion
Experiential activities
Memorable demonstrations
Small, achievable actions
The atmosphere is encouraging without dismissing the reality of what people have experienced.
There is space for honesty, choice and different levels of participation. People are supported to recognise where they are now while beginning to imagine where they could go next.
An addition to the work you already do
Your organisation already provides the specialist knowledge, relationships and ongoing support that recovery requires.
My workshops are designed to strengthen that work by giving service users another way to engage with ideas such as personal responsibility, resilience, self-worth, identity and change.
They can help create shared language that staff and service users can continue using after the sessions, including:
First Attempt In Learning
Courage before Confidence
I choose the action, not the outcome
I can choose again
Progress, not perfection
Respond, don’t react
This gives participants simple phrases they can remember and return to when making decisions or navigating more difficult moments.
Alongside the personal experience of participants, the workshops can contribute to wider service outcomes relating to:
Increased confidence and self-belief
Improved emotional awareness
Greater engagement with support
Increased motivation to take positive action
Improved resilience following setbacks
A stronger sense of personal agency
More positive future thinking
Increased willingness to try new behaviours
Improved connection and participation within a group
Workshop feedback and reflective activities can also provide useful qualitative evidence for impact reporting, funding applications and service evaluation.
I can work with your organisation to identify the outcomes that matter most to your service and agree appropriate ways to capture participant reflections and changes.
Flexible delivery
Workshops can be delivered as:
A standalone introductory session
A series of up to four connected workshops
A 6 or 12 month programme with workshops & accountability sessions
As part of an existing recovery or wellbeing programme
Sessions for people in recovery
Sessions supporting family members and affected others
A bespoke programme designed around your service and participants
Content, language and activities can be adapted to suit the group, the stage of their journey and the outcomes your organisation is working towards.
